There have been claims by some misinformed people that material in my books Victoria Police Corruption 1 and 2 says or implies that Mick Drury had been fatally shot in 1984. The case is mentioned more than once in these books, and contrary to the assertions of those who have failed to read them properly, the coverage of the Drury matters is entirely accurate.

Such an assertion (as cited above) is false and misleading. The material in the two books in relation to the Drury matters is totally accurate and the first mention of the case is on page 143 of Victoria Police Corruption.

The exact text of the section is reproduced below. It reads:-

'In 1984 hitman Christopher Dale Flannery is believed to have shot Mr. Drury in 1984 to prevent him giving evidence against a friend of Higgs's, namely Melbourne drug trafficker Alan Williams. Drury survived the attack.'

That is 100% true and the books do not therefore need any rewriting or clarification as falsely claimed by some critics.

While parts of the books may be misinterpreted to imply that Drury was killed at the time (1984). This did not in fact occur, as specifically mentioned at the first instance in the first book. This is although Drury's death had been the intention of his assailant/s at the time. Miraculously he recovered from his severe wounds and he was still alive at the time the books and CD were published.

It is suggested that potential critics of the above corruption books accurately read the texts of the books before rushing to make criticisms that do not reflect the contents of the books.
