Private ownership of live reptiles and birds to continue!
For now at least!
It is not often that the good guy wins in the corrupt law courts of Victoria, but for a change this happened this week.
The evil Victorian government wildlife department and their business, the dysfunctional Zoos Victoria have been directed to pay the legal costs of Snake Man Raymond Hoser, who was defending the rights of himself and all other non government (private) wildlife owners in Australia.
It was an all or nothing legal battle.
If Snakeman had lost the case, besides the guaranteed death of about 200 reptiles and frogs at his own world-class breeding and research facility, this would have meant the immediate end of all private ownership of reptiles not just in Victoria, but in every other Australian state as well.
Travelling wildlife shows like Hoser's Reptile Parties would have been effectively outlawed and his hands on reptile displays would have been but a memory.
The win for Snakeman Raymond Hoser as seen in the final court order awarding costs in his favour is the most significant win for wildlife conservation in Australia since either 2012-2015 when Hoser beat the same department in several cases, or as far back as 1993, when the best selling book Smuggled beat the unlawful ban on sales, became a best-seller and directly caused a rewrite of wildlife laws in every Australian state.
The case resolved as of end June 2024 was a textbook David V Goliath case where the unrepresented, Snakeman Raymond Hoser took on the full might of the Victorian Government Wildlife department and their multimillion dollar legal team.
Hoser beat these crooks in their own game, in their own courts, where they appoint the judges of their choice and Hoser successfully proved that the government wildlife department were a bunch of animal abusing and animal hating law-breakers who chose to ignore the laws that they have the privilege of writing themselves for themselves!
Dozens of other affected privately owned zoos and thousands of private reptile keepers are affected by this case and for the time being their legal right to have reptiles in captivity or as pets remains intact (until the next attempt to outlaw wildlife species as pets).
We also thank the expert witnesses who sided with us in this case, making statements in our favor and note that the wildlife department was unable to rouse up a single "expert" to support their genocidal actions.
The day after the ruling against the wildlife department, who wasted millions of dollars of taxpayers money running their case, there was no remorse on the part of the eco-terrorists.
Heads at the Conservation Regulator (a complete oxymoron) have vowed to rewrite their own rules and regulations to remove all private ownership of pets reptiles, frogs, native mammals and birds as soon as thery can.
Typically they pass their laws in the wee small hours to avoid any scrutiny by parliament, or any debate over their new rules.
This they have done many times in the past.
Hence it seems likely that in the near future, a new rule, regulation or law, will be passed that will effectively end all private ownership of live reptiles, frogs, birds and native mammals.
This will literally hapen overnight and from that point on, it will be impossible to stop and too late to even bother trying.
Of course, once the general public have all access to wildlife removed, the government policy of mass extinctions will be easier to implement.
The government-run business the dysfunctional Zoos Victoria will get their long sought after monopoly on the wildlife business and make greater amounts of cash pretending to save species that they have themselves deliberately caused to become rare or endangered in the first place.
Think of things like Tasmanian Tigers, Leadbeaters Possums or Grassland Earless Dragons, all exterminated through deliberate government policies and actions.
Live reptiles as pets were banned for decades in Australian from the 1970's to the 1990s.
Following the publication of the best-selling book Smuggled by Snakeman Raymond Hoser, laws were changed to allow private ownership for the first time in decades.
